Research approach

Recorded ECG and PPG during VR stimuli in seven sessions from six patients with alcohol use disorder. Computed heart rate from peak intervals and compared low, medium and high craving levels.

Results

Heart rate generally increased with craving, although responses varied between participants. For participant 3, mean ECG heart rates were 73.50, 74.01 and 74.57 bpm across the three levels.
